Isabelle Oates

My love of film started at an early age, when my older brother and I would make short films on his iPad. At the age of sixteen, I was given the opportunity to be a runner for Framestore. This experience affirmed just how much I love working with fellow creatives, and I truly fell in love with the fast-paced nature of the film industry. After having graduated from the University of the Arts London with a degree in Film Practice in 2024, and, working a full time hospitality job, I decided I wanted to explore more of what the world had to offer. I spent eight months travelling Asia, Australia and New Zealand. My travels have taught me so much about other cultures, food, arts and human connection. As well as given me the time to learn more about myself and reflect on where my ambissions lie, which is in casting.

Production Assistant

I have varied experience as a Production Assistant and Runner. I have worked on both short-form video content, such as music videos and adverts, as well as low-budget features.
I have worked with companies such as Framestore and Sticker Studios. Which has given me experience in all phases of production.

Casting

Initially, I came onto my degree thinking I would want to be a DOP, or a Director. However, sitting in auditions, and seeing the character come to life in front of you brought me such joy. To be able to find people who, together, can create magic both on and off the screen is a thoroughly rewarding feat.
